Really do not you just love a venture that can be finished in below an hour but appears like it took you permanently to make? This leather wall hanging just takes place to be one of those tasks. And the addition of the DIY gold leather pieces can make this basic wall hanging such a fairly addition to a gallery wall. Not only was it fast to put collectively, but it cost significantly less than $ ten to make!
–tan tooling leather (You can uncover this at the craft shop. Tooling leather is a stiffer leather that holds its shape properly.)
-colored leather (optional, but I liked the pop of colour)
–hot melt adhesive sheets
–gold heat activated foil sheets
–gold jewellery eye pins
–1/4″ hole punch or leather punch
-1 12mm gold jump ring
Stage 1: Commence by cutting shapes out of the leather pieces. Almost everything from crescents, half circles, circles, triangles, to rectangles performs.
Step Two: For the gold leather pieces, cut out your shape from the sizzling melt adhesive sheets and iron it glue-side down onto the leather on a lower setting for 4-5 seconds.
Phase 3: When the scorching melt has cooled, peel back the paper backing to expose the glue on the leather. Cover with the gold foil sheet and a piece of scrap material and iron yet again for yet another four-5 seconds.
Phase 4: Once amazing, peel back the gold foil sheet to reveal the new metallic leather, and then minimize out the shapes with your scissors.
Stage Five: After you have all your shapes minimize and laid out in the pattern you like, use your hole punch or leather punch to make a hole in the top and bottom of every of the big pieces, and 1 hole in the thinner pieces.
Step Six: Use your pliers to create huge loops on either end of the eye pins and spot the loops via the leather holes to connect all your pieces. At the leading, add your large jump ring so that you can hang your new leather wall hanging on the wall.
I am loving the combo of metallic, colored, and tan leather, plus all the shapes support it match in with my other geometric gallery wall pieces. I even feel this would search wonderful if you created several to develop a hanging mobile as well! xo. Kara
